Welcome to MovieDemo.com Textual update to our ongoing saga of Battling Sinusitis.
For those pressed for time here is a quick break down:
As always with your heath – CONSULT with your DOCTOR before trying any of this
The primary focus of this is to review two Nasal Sinus Irrigation Systems
Grossan Hydro Pulse SinuPulse Elite

Both of these units would suit your sinus well, both have advantages and disadvantages. The SinuPulse Elite biggest advantage is it’s ability to mist. The Grossan Hydro Pulse can not do this at all. However, the SinuPulse Elite water container feels of thinner plastic, with angular design (to compress it’s size) and we feel adds the potential for a weak link. The Grossan Hydro Pulse is a cylinder type design and would stand up the rigors of travel better than the Sinupulse elite. In either case this is just an observation and if you don’t travel A LOT, it is a mute point.(we posted the manufacture response to this below)
Salt of the Earth You will be mixing warm water with Salt both units come with their brand of salt.We used both and both did will, when then switch to Morton’s Kosher Salt (I am not Jewish but apparently my sinuses are), this was recommended in the literature that came with the Grossan Hydro Pulse. It is cheaper but we are not all that sure better. Some WARNINGS!
MOUNT UP or not Both units come with the ability to secure them to a wall.We DO NOT recommend you do this. Why? Well, sinuses and mold do not get along. You will be adding water to these units and I guarantee there will be spillage. If you have them mounted to dry wall, water will wet the wall. Not good.If it is tile, this is a little better with silicone but given the permanent nature of drilling into tile, our recommendation is just leave it near the sink and not mount it.
Electrifying These are electrical units be sure to use GFI outlets so you don’t clean and cook your sinus will a little AC.Not sure what a GFI is?GFIs are outlets that are wired up to pop a circuit breaker before you get electrocuted. If you are not sure if you have these, call an electrician because you REALLY need them in your bathroom.
MOVIEDEMO.COM VIDEO REVIEWS:
Our First Sinus related review was:
Allergy Cure, Don't Jan the Dog!
Background:
When I think allergies the first memory I have is a Brady Bunch Episode where Jan (I think it was Jan, she was always messing stuff up so I am going with her)Anyway, Jan had an allergic reaction to Tiger the dog.It came down to the final moments when Tiger was going to be taken away because of Jan and the whole family was going to be upset.Just at the last minute Alice remembers she switched either laundry detergent or dog shampoo, something of that nature and runs out and has Jan smell it and sure enough that was the problem and the day is saved. In my video I wanted to touch on this with a more modern drastic irreversible measure being taken. This ticked off a lot of people, because they actually thought I did it. Erh it is a joke and no I didn’t not harm our dog, he still rest comfortably upside down in our bed (which is part of my allergy problem), only to get up and eat his all nature organic meals.

SNAT -- Sinusitis -- Not Another Tissue
Background:
The manufacture of the SinuPulse Elite wanted us to review their unit and they sent us one.I had been getting a lot of question about this whole “sinus irrigation thing” from friends and family as well as people I work with and visitors from the sites.I wanted to cover more of how I am battling sinusitis and the tools that I was using. From the irrigators, vacuums, bedding and even dusting products. The problem was that the I was under a self imposed deadline to get the review done for the manufacture and really wanted to cover the other products too.So I decided to work them all into one.The result is I didn’t really do justice to any and I learn a little more about how I want to do my video in the future and not dilute the subject matter. But I must say given my time constrains with work & family, I am still of the mindset that I might be able to pull off a multi-review video. Lean towards my next video game reviews, where I have fallen way behind in what I want to cover.Erh enough of the excuses here is the review: enjoy ;)
The problem with doing video reviews is that once you press the compile button and upload, it becomes written in to the net..Other than deleting your work, there is not much than can be change. As a tweak-er, updater, finesse-er, this is frustrating because you remember ideas that you wanted to convey but misplace the mental note, or the item or company featured in the review does something that cause the lighting on the review to change, changing the perspective. This textual update allows me to have a medium that is fluid, which is able to change as time changes the dynamics surrounding the review.
This textual update is a work in progress as I tweak it out, for the moment it will be a smattering of text until I hammer it all out.

Battling Sinusitis -- Review of SinuPulse Elite
SNAT: Not Another Tissue.
Welcome to MovieDemo.com SNAT -- Sinusitis -- Not Another Tissue. While the title might be a little far fetched, use of these tools will help reduced the amount of tissues you use as well as the amount of drugs you take.
To recap the video it includes: Review of SinuPulse Elite (Positive Review) Dyson Animal Vacuum Review (Positive Review) Dyson The Ball Vacuum Review (Negative Review) IRobot Roomba (Neutral Review)
To start out the textual, first an explanation of the need for a textual update. As soon as I press the render to video button, the video/movie become dated. There are times when an item that shines brightly one day, isn’t as stunning as time passes. Some items this might happen after years (which we deem as acceptable on certain items) but some items loose there luster just days after the review and we want the ability to advise our viewers as needed.BTW this is not always a negative. Some items stand the test of time and we continue to HIGHLY recommend them down the road. For this review such an item would be the Dyson Animal.
So on with the updated textual review for the SinuPulse Elite.First off, a disclaimer, this item was SENT TO US FOR REVIEW.There is a difference between spending your hard earn money and getting burned verses having little invested. Also, shady manufactures might send items for review by taking special care that the item is the cream of the crop, rather than random pick of the litter.NOTE: I AM NOT SAYING THIS HAPPENED here.I am just explaining our stand on why we are telling you we received this item for review.
Also because the manufacture was kind enough to send us the unit,we feel that this grants them a forum within this document were we will post some of the PR statements that they sent us.Don’t worry we’ll making it obvious when the info is coming from the marketing department and we’ll chime in with our thoughts as well.
SinuPulse Elite Manufacture's comments on our review:
thx - I looked at the review sorry you failed to see the big advantages. The SinuPulse is far more durable than the Hydro Pulse. The plastic is lighter (great for shipping and reduces costs).the ABS reinforced plastic is actually quite stronger than the polypropylene on the Hydro Pulse. The small compact footprint of the SinuPulse makes traveling actually easier. The fully encapsulated pump assembly and motor virtually eliminates leaks and clogging which is a big problem with the Hydro Pulse. The ability to control the pressure right at the handle is a great consumer feature for comfort and control. Not sure about the comment of the odd sensation. I assume you referred to the atomizer which is for targeted rinse and is suppose to be used at low pressure. The standard tip actually has a wider range of pressure and water flow than the Hydro Pulse which has been a primary request almost universalThe atomizer function literally is a $200 value when you look at the cost of electronic atomizers designed to deliver drugs. The SinuPulse is like having two units in one. Lastly there is the additional value of 30 formulated saline packets vs. 5 packets in the old Hydro Pulse. The SinuPulse has been universally applauded and has been nominated for Electronic House Magazine: Innovation and Design award for 2007.I am sorry if it appears I am a bit biased. I have 30 years in irrigation, 20+ years as VP at Water Pik and the last 10 developing and designing both the Hydro Pulse and SinuPulse.I just want everyone to fully understand the hard work and expense that went into developing this very exciting new upgrade. However, I thank you for the time and effort on your review.I hope you are feeling better.
Here is an email I received from a visitor on MovieDemo.com and my response:
Hello,
Thanks for the commentary on allergy/sinus problem busters. One question remains... Which sinus irrigator did you prefer? The Grossan Hydro Pulse or the SinuPulse Elite?
Thanks, Lynn
Hi Lynn, Thanks for the email.I have been meaning to update the video with a textual review.Your email shows me there are people out there with interest and it lights a fire under me to update the review with textual review.
So which one would I buy if I had to do it all over again.I would get the elite, based on being able to MIST or not MIST.
The Grossan Hydro Pulse feels more rugged / more durable for travel (I am a pilot so I travel a lot)But going through security was always a problem. I now use a water bottle that came with the Hydro Pulse to irrigate while on the road.
So I would get the elite for the misting, if you travel a lot,I might blow off the misting and stick to the hydro pulse.
NOTE:I love either, I am convinced they have saved me thousands of dollars in sick calls and reduced the need for medication.HOWEVER, two people close to me (my sister in law and a friend) could not deal with the sensation that is causes and they both stopped using it & returned them. For me it is a big lesser of two evils, sensation vrs. having another dam sinus infection. There is no contest. So you really need to want to use it, keep your head tilted down (so no water runs down the back of your throat) and keep the pressure low enough that it doesn't over fill your sinus but strong enough that it knocks out lots of nasty stuff.
the sensation is like swimming in the ocean and getting a nose full of salt water.I have gotten so good at it, I can keep the level right to the edge of my throat, blow my nose 'slightly' and really clean out.BE CAREFUL about this do NOT do it to hard or you can blow water into your ear canal and risk an ear infection.
